Well today AAMI called us back with the final answer on our dearly beloved (erm….OK so we hated the car) bomb.
They decided it would not be a statutory write off….but rather a repairable write off. So in blonde terms, they are going to fix it, and then it can be resold and will get a VIV number (similar to a VIN but it will appear on a write off record).
Good thing though, we still get our payout.
We had 2 options: Take the payout or get it repaired and keep it
Of course we chose the payout….we will be happy to part with the bomb.
